Hplex Solutions Serves as Owner’s Representative for Dani’s Place: A First-of-Its-Kind Mental Health Rehabilitation Center
Hplex Solutions is proud to have served as the Owner’s Representative for Dani’s Place, a groundbreaking mental health rehabilitation center that recently celebrated its ribbon cutting in Toledo, Ohio.
Dani’s Place is the first facility of its kind in northwest Ohio, providing up to 90 days of housing and treatment for individuals transitioning from inpatient psychiatric care back into the community. This period is often the most critical for recovery, yet many patients are discharged without the support they need. By offering a safe environment, continued treatment, and guidance through this transition, Dani’s Place is designed to reduce risks and improve long-term outcomes for individuals and families.
The vision for Dani’s Place was inspired by Donna and Jeff Heck, who tragically lost their daughter Danielle in 2019 after she was discharged from inpatient care without follow-up support. Out of their heartbreak, the Hecks created a mission: to ensure no other family faces the same lack of resources. Through collaboration with the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board of Lucas County, OhioMHAS, NAMI Ohio, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, and other partners, Dani’s Place has become a reality.
The facility was intentionally designed to emphasize peace, safety, and healing. Natural light, open spaces, and thoughtful layouts were incorporated to foster recovery and create an environment of dignity and care. Leaders say the center could serve as a national model for long-term mental health rehabilitation.
As Owner’s Representative, Hplex Solutions guided the project team every step of the way—from planning and design through construction and completion. We are honored to have played a role in bringing such an impactful resource to life for the Toledo community and beyond.
Dani’s Place represents hope, healing, and a commitment to changing the way mental health recovery is supported. At Hplex Solutions, we believe projects like this have the power to transform communities, and we are grateful to have partnered with so many dedicated leaders to make it possible.
