Hplex Solutions Leads Owner’s Representation for Phase 2 Expansion and Activation
Hplex Solutions served as Owner’s Representative for Phase 2 of the UC Health Blood Cancer Healing Center expansion, translating state grant and philanthropic funding into additional clinical, patient, and staff support spaces. The expansion addressed increasing patient volumes while advancing UC Health’s mission to provide an integrated healing environment for patients and families.

Hplex Solutions’ Role
Hplex developed a conceptual building master plan that evaluated multiple program opportunities within shell spaces remaining from Phase 1. After identifying and prioritizing the program areas, Hplex led a detailed budgeting exercise for each area and presented the findings to UC Health leadership to support informed scope and investment decisions.
Following scope approval, Hplex provided comprehensive project oversight through design completion, construction agreement negotiations, construction coordination, activation, and first-patient readiness.
Because the Blood Cancer Healing Center remained fully operational throughout the renovation, Hplex chaired coordination discussions with UC Health departments and the landlord to protect patient care, maintain operations, and minimize disruption to the patient experience.
Through early planning, disciplined financial management, stakeholder coordination, and activation oversight, Hplex provided UC Health with a single point of accountability from concept through first patient.
Project Outcome
Through proactive communication, disciplined financial tracking, and timely decision-making, the Project Team identified available funds during the renovation and strategically reinvested them in additional scope that enhanced the completed project.
